Nothing pisses me off more than hearing a BAD remake/cover of a classic tune. This week the full version of “Back 2 Black” (originally by Amy Winehouse) was released and covered by none other than Beyonce and 3 Stacks. In my opinion the shits terrible and a slap in the face. When an artist writes music as personal and meaningful as Amy it should not be touched by anyone. The entire “Back 2 Black” era was dark, sad and depressing. That album is hands down one of the most eerie albums i’ve ever heard but also one of the best. Anytime you can feel the pain you know its on point. Beyonce’s voice already has no emotion to it all so for her to take on a song like that just wasn’t right.The lyrical content in the song coming out of her mout don’t go at all. I fuck wit 3 stacks and I can see him on this song but he sounds like a complete idiot. I honestly think artist should THINK before doing shit like this. Anywho….without further ado here it is…you be the judge!
This HORRIBLE remake can be found on “The Great Gatsby” soundtrack which also features Lana Del Ray, Florence and The Machine, Jack White and Jay- Z who is also the executive producer. Thumbs down on this one HOV, I’m sure Amy is not feeling this at all.
